Announcements March 5th

REMINDER-ART BAG DONATIONS FOR HAITI DUE THIS SUNDAY!
This coming Sunday, March 7th is the last day that the Children's Ministry will be collecting art supplies to send in the Art Bags to Haiti.  These art supplies will not only serve as something to do for the children in Haiti since they are out of school, but will also provide a type of play-therapy for them.  Look for the Art Bag Donation Boxes outside the sanctuary and the Elementary class check in table to place the items that you wish to donate in this Sunday.  Here is a list of supplies that we really could use to finish up the bags and reach our goal of sending 130 art bags to Haiti.  Child-safe Scissors (we currently do not have any of these), glue sticks, stickers, pencil sharpeners, sketch pads/note pads that will fit in gallon sized ziplock bags, miniature playdoh, water-based paint sets.  Other supplies that can be donated are crayons, markers, colored pencils, and pencils.  Monetary donations will also be accepted, simply add it to the offering envelope and indicate that it is for Haiti art bags.

COME TO CHURCH EARLY THIS WEEK!
Do you want to see what's happening at the Vine?  Come to church early this week and you will have the opportunity to see some slides with pictures of people of the Vine. Pictures will be shown before service begins at 10:30 a.m. 

CONNECTION & MEMBERSHIP CLASS- MARCH 14TH
The Vine will be holding it's next Connection and Membership Classes on Sunday, March 14th at Noon in Room 565.  Light refreshments will be served.

ANGEL FOOD ORDER DEADLINE MARCH 15TH
All orders are due for Angel Food by noon on Monday, March 15th.  Distribution Day is Saturday, March 20th.  If you are interested in becoming a part of the Angel Food Ministry Distribution Team, please contact Rodney Barker at rodbarker@comcast.net

SECOND MISSIONS TRIP TO HAITI PLANNED FOR MAY
A second missions trip is being planned for the week of May 24-28th.  If you are interested in finding out more information about this trip, please indicate your interest on your Communication Card. 

EASTER LILIES AVAILABLE TO ORDER UNTIL MARCH 19TH
Beautify our sanctuary for Easter by purchasing a lily in memory or honor of someone.  You can then take the lilies home with you after the Easter Service!  Orders for Easter lilies can be taken until March 19th at a cost of $13.00 per lily.  Envelopes are available at the Ministry table for orders and the envelopes can be placed in the basket on the Ministry Table or in the offering plate.  Please make checks payable to the Vine.

PRAYER CARDS AVAILABLE FOR HAITI MISSIONS TEAM
The Haiti Missions Team would like for you to remember to pray for them as they head off to Haiti on a Missions Trip March 15-20th.  Prayer Cards will be available for you to pick up at the Ministry Table this Sunday, Feb. 28th.

Event Updates-Feb. 26th

REMINDER-REACH WEEK EVENT TOMORROW!
Just a reminder that Saturday, February 27th is the Vine's REACH Week Event.  We are going to be showing our appreciation to emergency responders in the Waldorf area by delivering them plates of home-baked items.  Don't forget to drop off your baked goods at the home of Steve and Donna Moyer by 10:00 a.m.  Everyone who would like to help deliver the baked goods is asked to be at the Moyers home at 10:00 to help distribute the items.  The address is 2723 Moran Dr., Waldorf.

CONNECTION/MEMBERSHIP CLASS- MARCH 14TH
Due to inclement weather in February, we have combined the Connection and Membership Classes for this month and they will be held in Room 565 near the entrance on Sunday, March 14th at noon.  Please contact Pastor Anita for more information at aeastlack@thevine-church.net

REACH WEEK EVENT-  SATURDAY, FEB. 27TH at 10:00 AM
We are a church body that is blessed to have been planted in an area that is served by many dedicated emergency responders.  This month we believe God is leading us to give a tangible "Thank You!" to these servants who help others in our community in so many important ways.  We are putting together and delivering some "tokens of appreciation" in the form of plates filled with home-baked goods.  We encourage you to share in the fun of REACHing out to the emergency responders in our community by sharing something you have baked.  Bring your goodies on Saturday, 2/27/10, at 10:00 to the home of Steve & Donna Moyer in Waldorf.  Call 301-645-3218 if you need directions.

SPECIAL GUEST SPEAKERS COME TO THE VINE ON FEB. 28TH
Come to the Vine on February 28th at 10:30 a.m. to hear about Nehemia Gordon and Keith Johnson experiences as they toured the Holy Land.  This Jewish scholar and African American pastor are the co-author's of a book about the Lord's prayer.  "A Prayer To Our Father" will unlock the Hebrew meaning of the Lord's Prayer.

CHURCH DINNER: CHILI-COOK-OFF ON FEB. 28TH AFTER SERVICE!
It's time for our quarterly church dinner!  Let's have a Chili-Cook-Off on Sunday, February 28th immediately following our service outside the auditorium in the lobby area.  The chili voted the best in the contest wins the prize. All other guests are asked to bring a topping for chili, or a dish to share.  We also need other supplies such as plates, bowls, cups, plastic ware, lemonade, etc.  If you are interested in entering the cook-off or can help by providing some of the other supplies needed, please contact Diane Dye at nphsevents@ccboe.com

Angel Food Announcement

MARCH ANGEL FOOD ANNOUNCEMENTS
Angel Food Ministries March orders are due by March 15th at 5:00 p.m.  Distribution Day is Saturday, March 20th.

The March coupon codes are as below.  They apply only to online orders and are limited to the first 1000 customers, so order soon!

Angel Food Ministries is happy to announce the online coupon codes for the month of March!  The new online coupon codes are, "SCHOOL5" which gives 5% off the New After School Box.  The other code for March is "FAM5" which gives 5% off the New 4x4 Family Meal Kits.  Both online coupon codes are good for the first 1000 users.  Both are active either until all uses or expiration at the end of March.

Announcements-Feb. 19th

ANGEL FOOD DISTRIBUTION DAY- FEB. 20TH
Distribution day is February 20th at Davis Middle School. Those who want to serve on the Angel Food Distribution Team are asked to be at the Davis School at 11:30 a.m.

SIERRE LEONE MISSIONS TRIP MEETING FEBRUARY 21ST
There will be a Informational Meeting for all those who are interested in going on a missions trip to Sierre Leone November 11-18th.  This meeting will be held in room 565 at noon on February 21st.

FAMILY COMMUNION OPPORTUNITY ON FEB. 21ST AT 10:00 IN ELEMENTARY CLASSROOM
Parents, and youth are invited to join the children in the elementary classroom at 10:00 a.m. on February 21st to take communion as a family.

Sun., Feb. 14th Meeting Place Change!

SCHOOL CLOSING EFFECTS CHURCH MEETING PLACE AGAIN!
Good Afternoon Vine Church Family,

I hope that this is the last email of this kind for another one hundred years!  But the school closed our church down again!  This time we are going to have some fun.

Karl and I just closed on our new home today and are inviting all of you to gather for church with us in our new home at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday morning!  10295 Stewards Chance Lane, White Plains.  Directions are below:

From Middletown Road, turn left onto Billingsley Rd., left into Greenhaven Run on Silent Creek Rd.. Turn right onto Stewards Chance Lane.  10295 is the 3rd house on the right.

From 301 South, turn right on Billingsley Rd., right into Greenhaven Run on Silent Creek Road.  Turn right onto Stewards Chance Lane.  10295 is the 3rd house on the right.

DeAnna will have the children stay with us for worship and then go upstairs for some special children's programming that she has been planning for a couple of weeks.  Please pass the word to others.

CANCELLATION DUE TO SNOW- FEB. 6TH

CANCELLATION DUE TO SNOW

Good Evening Church Family,
Because of the State of Emergency that has been declared for the region, officials will want us to stay off the roads tomorrow regardless of the sunshine.  So, I have canceled the gathering at the Old Country Buffet in Waldorf.  Michael McCammon will post the sermon notes on our website (and last's week's as well).  Even though we won't be gathering as a church family, I encourage you to still have church at home as individuals or as families.  Set aside some time and go through your prayer journal, the sermon notes online and please send in your tithes online or by mail.

There are a lot of exciting things coming up this month.  Look online to see the many announcements.  Let's keep the momentum of excitement and ministry going in spite of the weather!

Important Vine Announcement - Feb. 5th

WINTER STORM CHANGES MEETING LOCATION THIS SUNDAY, FEB. 7TH!
The Charles County School Board has cancelled all weekend activities and North Point High School will be closed due to the winter storm that is headed our way this weekend.  Because of the closing, we will be meeting at the Old Country Buffet in Waldorf for Bible Study and Brunch at 10:30 a.m. on Feb. 7th.  Children's activities will be provided while we have Bible Study around the tables.  Bring your Bibles, appetite and tithes.
